Honda & Yamaha Championship Years
Freddie Spencer (born December 20, 1961), known as Fast Freddie, is an American former world champion motorcycle racer. He was born in Shreveport, Louisiana. At the age of four, he began racing dirt track events near his hometown of Shreveport. After winning the 1978 250cc U.S. National Novice Class Road Racing Championship for first-year professionals, Spencer was contracted to ride for the American Honda racing team in the AMA Superbike Championship. He gave Honda their first-ever superbike victory when he won the Road America round of that year's AMA Superbike Championship.
By 1982, Freddie Spencer had become a full-time rider for Honda's Grand Prix team and had competed in the 500cc class. In 1983, he won his first 500cc World Championship at the age of 21, becoming the youngest person ever to win the title. His record has since been surpassed by Marc Marquez in 2013.
Freddie Spencer now lives in London and commentates on television for various racing series. For 2019 he was appointed chairman of the FIM MotoGP™ Stewards Panel.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
Which Freddie Spencer 19 championship years can I order as a race replica?
Freddie Spencer 19 replicas span his 1980–1993 MotoGP career: his Yamaha years (1980), Honda-HRC dominance (1981–1987 with his 1983 and 1985 championships), and final Yamaha seasons (1989, 1993). Each suit reflects that season's Honda or Yamaha livery, panel placement, and colors. Standard sizes ship in 10-15 working days from order confirmation; made-to-measure replicas ship in 4-6 weeks from spec confirmation. Use the race-year tiles above to select your preferred championship season. Consult the
Size Guide to verify measurements before ordering.
What material is used in Freddie Spencer race replica suits?
Freddie Spencer 19 replicas use 1.2mm grain-side kangaroo leather, the same race-grade material chosen by professional MotoGP teams for tear strength and light weight. Kangaroo is thinner than cow leather, offering mobility during tucked riding posture and reduced drag at high speed. Each suit is hand-stitched with double-reinforced stress points at the collar, cuffs, waist, and hem to support repeated movement. Made-to-measure orders allow you to customize sleeve length, torso fit, and waist for your exact measurements. See the
Size Guide to verify your fit before ordering.
How accurate is the season livery on Freddie Spencer 19 replicas?
Freddie Spencer 19 race replica suits are season-accurate reproductions of his documented MotoGP livery from each championship year. Panel layout, color placement, sponsor logos, and trim details reflect his Honda-HRC and Yamaha factory specifications. The 1983 and 1985 championship-year replicas are exact season reproductions, while all other years replicate his documented racing palette and Honda or Yamaha team identity. Each suit is hand-stitched to order, allowing made-to-measure adjustments to sleeve, torso, and waist without altering the livery authenticity. Contact
Help Center if you have questions about a specific season's accuracy.
Can I wear a Freddie Spencer 19 race suit for track-day or club racing?
Freddie Spencer 19 replicas are designed as race-fit replicas of professional MotoGP livery and are suitable for track days and club racing events. The race-grade 1.2mm kangaroo leather, pre-curved sleeves, and reinforced stress seams provide tear resistance and mobility during high-speed cornering. While these are replica race suits, they are not CE-rated armor suits and do not include impact-protection panels. Riders using them for track events should add separate EN 1621-certified armor inserts to shoulders, elbows, and back for compliance with track-day safety rules. Made-to-measure fit ensures proper sleeve reach and torso length for tucked riding posture. Verify your event's safety requirements before attending.
How should I care for and condition a Freddie Spencer race-replica kangaroo suit?
Kangaroo leather in race replicas stays supple and resists cracking with regular conditioning every 6–12 months, depending on use frequency and storage climate. Clean the suit gently with a soft cloth and apply leather conditioner designed for race-grade hides to maintain flexibility and water resistance. Store your replica suit on a padded hanger in a cool, dry place away from direct heat or sunlight to preserve color and prevent shrinkage. Hand-stitched seams last longer when the suit is conditioned regularly, as supple leather reduces stress on stitching during wear. For detailed care guidance, visit
