Born on November 21, 1984, Alvaro Bautista Arce is a road racer on motorcycles from Spain. With the Ducati factory squad, he won the Superbike World Championship in 2022 and 2023. He placed second in the 250cc class and third in the 125cc class in 2006, and he finished in the top six in the MotoGP classes in 2012 and 2013. In the MotoGP class, he participated from 2010 until 2018.
He was signed to race the Honda Fireblade in World Superbikes for 2020 and 2021 after the 2019 World Superbike season with the factory Ducati squad. HRC will have complete authority over the team.
After switching to the MotoGP class in 2010, Alvaro Bautista spent his first two years as a competitor for the Suzuki team. In 2012, he joined the Gresini Racing team, which ran on Honda equipment. When the factory returned to MotoGP for the 2015 season, he remained to work with the team on Aprilia technology. Next, in 2017 and 2018, Alvaro Bautista raced a Ducati for the Aspar (then Ángel Nieto) MotoGP team, before switching to the Superbike World Championship in 2019.
