About Maverick Vinales
Maverick Vinales Ruiz, a Spanish motorcycle racer, was born on January 12, 1995. The Moto3 World Champion from 2013, Viñales is presently competing in MotoGP on the Aprilia Racing squad. Midway through the 2021 season, his contract was mutually ended by Yamaha Factory Racing, after five seasons as a MotoGP factory rider.
Maverick Vinales, who was born in Figueres, Alt Empordà, started racing competitively at the age of three, first in minimotos and then in motocross. In 2002, he transitioned to circuit racing and participated in the Catalan 50cc Championship. Following this, he had several successful seasons in 70cc "metrakit" bikes. He took first place in the Catalan 125cc Championship in 2007 and went on to win the Mediterranean Trophy the following year. He participated in a few races with RZT Racing in the German IDM 125GP Championship in 2008, riding an Aprilia RS 125 R, and his best finish was sixth. In 2009, he advanced to the CEV Buckler 125GP class, racing with Miguel Oliveira for the Blusens-BQR team.
Maverick Vinales, who trailed Alberto Moncayo by just four points in the championship standings, concluded the season as the Rookie of the Year. Throughout the season, Viñales secured four podium finishes in a row, including a win at Jerez. 2010 saw Viñales and Oliveira join teams other than Blusens and compete for the championship title. Viñales finished each of the season's seven races on the podium while Oliveira crashed out of one race at Albacete. Viñales won only two races, both at Albacete, compared to Oliveira's four wins and two-second places. Viñales's home circuit, Albacete, was the scene of the sole race for the 2010 European Championship championship, which he barely won.
