FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

What are chaps and when should I wear them?
Chaps are protective leg coverings often worn while riding horses or working outdoors. They help shield your legs from branches, dirt, and other hazards. You should wear them during horseback riding, whether it's for fun or work on a ranch. They also provide extra grip while riding, ensuring you stay secure in the saddle. Chaps can also be stylish, adding flair to your riding gear. Remember to check the temperature and season, as chaps can be warm in hot weather.
How do I choose the right size of chaps?
Choosing the right size of chaps is crucial for comfort and safety. Start by measuring your waist and inseam. Most chaps have a size chart to help you select the best fit. Remember, it’s better to have a snug fit that isn’t too tight. When you try them on, ensure you can move freely in your legs. If possible, document both measurements and compare them with the sizing guide on our website. A proper fit enhances your riding experience and keeps you protected.
Are chaps water-resistant or waterproof?
Most chaps are made from leather or synthetic materials. Many of these materials offer water-resistance, which helps keep you dry in light rain. However, they are not completely waterproof, so heavy rain may soak through. If you plan to ride in wet conditions, look for chaps labeled as waterproof or those treated with water-repellent sprays. Keeping your chaps clean and conditioned can also improve their water resistance over time. Always check product descriptions for details!
How do I care for my chaps?
Taking care of your chaps helps them last longer. First, clean them by brushing off dirt and dust with a soft brush. Use a damp cloth for stubborn spots. If they are leather, apply a leather conditioner regularly. This keeps the material soft and helps prevent cracking. Do not soak them in water or machine wash. Always allow your chaps to air dry naturally. Keeping your chaps in a cool, dry space also prevents mold and other damage.
Can I wear chaps for activities other than riding?
Yes, you can wear chaps for various activities besides riding. They are popular among ranch workers and cowboys for protection while working around animals. Chaps are also useful for outdoor chores like cutting firewood or hiking in rugged terrain. Some people wear them for fashion or at events. Always make sure they fit well and provide comfort and protection, no matter the activity. Using them wisely helps ensure safety and adds style to your outdoor adventures.

Awesome jacket. You will be so impressed with the quality of the leather and the workmanship! It is such a nice jacket...you can take the body armor out when you are not riding your bike and wear. I get a ton of compliments when I wear this jacket. And it is very true to size. You want this jacket...believe me...you do! And the price just makes it that much better!

This seems an excellent suit for the price. Since I am not a serious racer, I have tried-purchased suits on the low-end price range. I also have an Leathercollection CR ($549 sale price), size 42 fitting quite appropriately snug (see my review of this suit...). Material and stitching seem top notch. Suit is also breathable, great in warmer-weather riding. Sizing chart is a size too large - I'm 6'1" very slim 32" waist, 165lb, 38" chest. I started with a 46 and had to return it for a 44. Pretty satisfied with it, except it looks a little funny from the back #as many race suits do#. There is a lot of extra material - suit fits very snug around the ankles up to the thigh, across the abs and chest, and zipped up around the neck. But it bulges huge in the back around the hips, waist, and up through the back hump. The material tents on the back, making me look like I'm wearing a backpack from my shoulders to just below my gluteus. It's a little amusing how much more exaggerated this is than other suits I have seen. As seen in the pictures, though, it is VERY sharp from the front. Make sure if you win races or take pictures that you face the camera! This suit compares quite nicely with the aforementioned Leathercollection. The lack of removable liner is made up by extremely sharp frontal appearance, double zipper #from top and from bottom#, and lower price. Please note that because the liner is not removable, you may wish to consider a riding suit to absorb sweat and-or body oils. The two piece or one piece Leathercollection suits are ideal, but a simple, snug-fitting cotton blend pant-shirt combination may work just great.
